I am a 27 year old engineering postdoc, living and working in Illinois. I created this account to showcase the custom amigurumi dolls that I make in my spare time. Most of the dolls are for sale and I also do commissions (check out my journal posts below for more info.)

I'm also on tumblr. Feel free to follow me there.

Journal History

As of right now, in keeping with Andrew Hussie's Comprehensive Homestuck Sales FAQ, my homestuck kids and trolls dolls are no longer for sale. :(

What's that, you say?  How can you get your hands on one of those adorable dolls if I'm no longer selling them?  Fear not!  From now on, anyone who buys any other doll from me at full price also gets a free homestuck doll of their choice (while supplies last).  The purchased doll can be any size, premade or custom.

But that's not all!  I've also updated my ordering info to include the following offer:  anyone ordering multiple dolls gets $10 off for each doll after the first.

Offers cannot be combined, so if you buy two dolls, you have to pick between a second homestuck doll or getting $10 off.  Still, it's a pretty sweet deal.

Your dolls are so awesome! :hooray: If you don't mind me asking, what sort of pattern do you use?

There's no set pattern. Once upon a time they were based pretty loosely on a Dr. Who pattern that I found, but the proportions are different and my style has shifted over time. I've kept notes on certain specific patterns (the skeleton and the wheelchair especially) but they're in my own shorthand so I don't know how accessible they'd be to anyone else.

Glad you like them so much, and thanks for watching!

No problem! There were way too many cool dolls in your gallery to fave them all, so I figure this way I'll at least get to see all the new ones as they come out. Keep up the good work!

How do you make curly hair?? .v.
Reply
:iconlrdolls:
I use a few different tricks. If you split the yarn into its individual fibers (or pairs of fibers), it's almost always going to be curlier. I've also noticed that stitching the hair on flat makes it lie straight, so if I want curly hair I try to make sure that the ends hang loose.

For REALLY curly hair, I'll actually crochet a swatch of yarn ahead of time, wait several days, then frog the swatch before using the yarn. It's hard to know how much yarn to prep though, so sometimes I end up using it all up and having to wait a few days all over again while I prep more.

Hope this helps!
